Horrible, horrible week
So this week has been pretty horrid. Me and my girl acquired mono this week, which, for the uninitiated, is a very non-fun thing to have. It's everything bad about the flu, made a bit worse, and it goes on for weeks. I've missed a week of work now, I have no sick days, and it's pretty obvious how that doesn't help matters.
Last night, I got to embark on a late night visit to the emergency room. The kind involving driving really really fast with hazards on because you're scared stiff. And because of this, I realized something, something that should have already been very apparent:
Your health and the health of those you love is the most important thing on Earth. If I was given that cheesy "one wish" question a week ago, the answer would have probably been something like "7 million dollars so that I can do all the things I want to do with complete liberty." But no. Not anymore. Now, it would simply be for the continued good health of me and mine. And I suppose the moral of the story is that this eye-opening situation was a very good thing. I see slightly more clearly now, and isn't that what it's all about?
